“Spanish Fork is my hometown. This is where I was raised. This is where I have raised my kids. I love this town.”

I am a very approachable guy. I am very pragmatic. I want to be the citizens’ advocate. I’m here to listen. What are your concerns? I am here to listen to every side of a situation and do my best to come up with the most effective resolutions.

Why am I running for Spanish Fork City Council?

Continued Progress

Spanish Fork is a thriving community. We continue to have great growth and prosperity. I want to continue to cultivate that prosperity.

Managed Growth

Growth is happening. The city needs to make sure that the growth happens in a managed way.

Maintain a Strong Community

The reason that we all love to be here is the sense of community. We need to continue to keep that feeling here.

About Me

Living Spanish Fork My Entire Life

I am a lifelong resident of Spanish Fork. I am married to Angie (Dansie) Clayson, who is also a Spanish Fork native. We have been married for 27 years. I manage a local credit union here in town, Pacific Horizon. I’ve worked here for the over 20 years. I have enjoyed meeting and helping lots of local people through my employment there.

My wife is a small business owner in this town. She owns a studio, Angie Clayson Photography at Reverie Studios. I’m sure you have either had her do your pictures or you know somebody that has. She’s been running her studio business for over two decades. She has recently started a new adventure in her career. She is now licensed as a mortgage loan officer and works for Luneta Home Loans. She has also enjoyed being part of the SF Chamber and served on the Board of Directors.

My parents are Snick and Olive (Argyle) Clayson. My wife’s parents are Von and Carlene (Brown) Dansie.

We have five children. Payton (24), married to Kinley Gonzales and just recently added our new favorite grandchild, Wrenley.  Tate (19), Brock (17), Irelynd aka LoLo (14) and Camden (11).  We have raised our children here and wouldn’t want to have them grow up anywhere else.

You will often find us at the ballpark. Our boys have all played baseball and I have coached for many, many years. I have also enjoyed coaching football and basketball teams throughout the community in the past and I treasure the relationships I have made with the players and parents through the community.

Our Fiesta Days celebration is one of our favorite traditions. I have helped put on the PyroMusical for several years and volunteered on various Fiesta Days committees. My wife and I served as the Fiesta Days Chairmen in 2017-2019. It was an honor. We worked alongside some of the best. We continue to volunteer in this area. My wife helps with social media and the baby contest. I am the committee chair for the PyroMusical.

I am currently serving on the planning and building commission and have enjoyed that endeavor.

That’s just a little bit about us. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to serve this city in other ways and representing the people of Spanish Fork.
